O2 UK details price plans, bonus content for August 29th 4G launch
O2 has revealed more details for its 4G offering in the United Kingdom, set to start on the 29th of August, the same day as Vodafone. The new tariffs are a bit more involved than Vodafone's simpler £5 ($7.76) addition, but the carrier will be bundling games from Gameloft, access to free music tracks and videos for 12 months, and Priority Sports videos for a number of major events.

The carrier's SIM-Only packages with 4G start from £26 ($40) per month for 1GB of data, rising to £36 ($56) for 5GB, with optional extra data supplements at £6 ($9.30) for 500MB and £10 ($15) for 1GB. Customers of O2 Refresh, a plan that allows for early upgrading of smartphones, will see plans start from £22 ($34) for 1GB of data, ranging up to £37 ($57) for 8GB, with a device payment of between £10 ($15) and £25 ($38) on top each month.

O2 states that it will be offering existing customers without a 4G smartphone to have the carrier pay 25-percent towards the cost of the remaining contract if they upgrade early to a device able to connect to the new network.
