Nvidia Tegra Tab appears at FCC, confirms Tegra 4, 7-inch display
Following an appearance at the Taiwan National Communications Commission in <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/293426==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/09/03/testing.shows.wi.fi.bluetooth.no.cellular.radios/" rel='nofollow'>late August</a>, the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/293427==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/08/09/nvidia.prepping.7.inch.tegra.tab.likely.tegra.4.po wered/" rel='nofollow'>Nvidia Tegra Tab</a> has made its way through <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/293428==https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout =500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=806899&fcc_i d=VOB-P1640" rel='nofollow'>FCC testing</a>. The seven-inch P1460 tablet, appearing in identical images to the NCC filing, is accompanied by a manual that shows it as having a relatively-untouched stock installation of Android Jelly Bean. <br />
<br />
Internal photos in the filing show it as having an unknown Tegra 4 variant as its processor, according <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/293429==http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/09/nvidia-tegra-tab-fcc-tegra4-7-inch/" rel='nofollow'>to</a> <em>Engadget</em>. Base specifications appear to include a 1280x800-resolution IPS display with a 3,200 or 4,100mAh battery, and a front-facing HD webcam, though images inside the manual shows that the rear 5-megapixel camera, a HDMI port, and stylus are labeled "Premium Model only," suggesting that more than one version of the Tegra Tab will be available to buy. <br />
<br />
The overall build of the device and supporting documentation point towards the Tegra Tab being a full consumer release rather than a developer device. Considering the company has shipped its Tegra 4-powered <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/293425==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/21/mechanical.flaw.with.third.party.component.delays. shield.by.four.days/" rel='nofollow' target="_self" title="">Shield Android gaming system</a>, Nvidia could well be preparing to offer the similar and more conventional device to end users in the next few months.
