Briefly: Sony details PS4 for Japan; WD acquires Virident for $685M
Sony has announced that its PlayStation 4 console will arrive in Japan on February 22, three months after the US launch in November, according to a <em>Reuters</em> <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/09/us-sony-ps-idUSBRE9880E120130909?feedType=RSS&feedName=techno logyNews">report</a>. Pricing will start at 39,380 yen (~$400 USD), or 43,980 yen (~$440 USD) with the camera accessory, which effectively matches the US prices.<br /><br />Western Digital has announced that it has moved to acquire Virident, a company that specializes in flash storage for server equipment. WD CEO Steve Milligan noted that the buyout, which will cost the company $685 million, will help the company become "an even more significant player" in the enterprise SSD market.
