Sony Mobile poster asks employees to avoid smartphone leaks
Sony is hoping to tighten up its security surrounding its mobile devices in the future, after the launch of the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294401==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/09/04/sports.5.inch.full.hd.display.new.photo.shooting.t ech/" rel='nofollow'>Xperia Z1</a>. The electronics giant has allegedly placed posters in its offices to warn its staff away from sharing details with non-employees, complete with its list of rules for handing confidential, prototype mobile devices. <br />
<br />
The poster, said <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294395==http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/09/18/sony-mobile-wants-to-put-a-lid-on-future-leaks/" rel='nofollow'>by</a> <em>Xperia Blog</em> to have been taken in a Sony Mobile office somewhere in Asia, orders staff not to use phones without a "protective cover," and not to show prototype phones to people outside of the company, unless an NDA is signed. Online usage instructions are also provided, with warnings to avoid third-party benchmarking apps, and not to upload images to publicly-viewable websites, such as social networks. <br />

Technology companies have been susceptible to having upcoming products leaked in recent years, with the Xperia Z1 being an example of how far these leaks can go. <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294396==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/24/leaked.images.of.device.show.lack.of.xenon.flash.a dded.speaker.grille/" rel='nofollow' target="_self" title="">Photographs</a> of the device, along with correct <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294397==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/08/19/sony.xperia.i1.mini.to.sport.high.end.specs.unlike .other.mini.devices/" rel='nofollow'>specifications</a>, <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294398==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/08/25/sony.xperia.z1.switches.to.aluminum.frame.from.gla ss.fiber.polyamide/" rel='nofollow' target="_self" title="">press renders</a>, the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294399==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/29/confidentiality.letter.hides.fcc.photos.until.sept ember.30th.or.earlier.launch/" rel='nofollow' target="_self" title="">FCC filing</a>, and its 20.7-megapixel <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294400==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/05/01/sony.honami.could.pack.16.or.20.megapixel.sensor/" rel='nofollow'>camera</a> all leaked well before its launch.
