Sprint launches One Up early-upgrade program in stores
Sprint has joined <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294402==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/18/verizon.edge.to.allow.six.month.upgrades.for.half. cost.of.phone.trade.in/" rel='nofollow'>Verizon</a>, <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294403==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/16/launch.of.t.mobile.jump.forcing.other.carriers.to. offer.similar.plans/" rel='nofollow'>AT&T</a> and <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294404==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/10/group.version.of.simple.choice.plan.introduced.wit h.up.to.5.lines.per.account/" rel='nofollow'>T-Mobile</a> in offering customers a way to upgrade earlier. The <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294405==http://www.sprint.com/oneup" rel='nofollow'>Sprint One Up</a> program, as leaked <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294406==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/09/15/one.up.slated.to.launch.on.september.20/" rel='nofollow'>last weekend</a>, will allow subscribers to upgrade their smartphone or mobile device once per year, with the carrier also providing a discounted price plan to accompany the new mobile phone upgrading scheme. <br />
<br />
Just as with other versions, customers will have to agree to pay 24 monthly installments for the device, separate from the price plan, and with no down payment. Once 12 consecutive payments have been taken, the device can be traded in for an upgraded model, with the 24-month period resetting. The Sprint One Up price plan will offer the same items as its Unlimited, My Way offering, namely unlimited talk, text, and data, but at a cheaper $65 per month. This $15 discount does expire once the final installment of a device has been paid, so it could be argued that the discount is just to offset part of the cost of the device itself. <br />

Sprint is offering One Up in stores, and states it will be available online in the future.
