Briefly: Remote lock in Android Device Manager, CyanogenMod updates
Google has updated its Android Device Manager to allow for remote locking of mobile devices. The online dashboard not only blocks access to anyone that doesn't know the password, but also gives the option to set a new password, according to Android Police. The new password will override whatever is being used on the phone or tablet, and will be required to unlock it. Devices in Airplane mode will receive the lock command and password changes once it reconnects to a network.
