Apple launches 2013 iMacs with Haswell, PCIe-based SSD support
Skipping an announcement during its September press event, Apple today unveiled the 2013 edition of the iMac. The desktop is making the switch to Intel's Haswell platform, and now comes standard with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and PCIe-based SSD storage, where selected. The base 21.5-inch model comes with a 1TB hard drive, 8GB of RAM, a 2.7GHz quad-core Core i5 processor, and intergrated Iris Pro graphics. Both the 21.5- and 27-inch sizes support Core i5 configurations up to 3.4GHz, and NVIDIA GeForce 700-series videocards.<br /><br />
