AT&T expands 4G LTE, wireless home phone, gains Pebble smartwatch
<a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294988==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/09/24/att.data.global.add.on.users.gain.access.to.near.1 2m.fon.hotspots/" rel='nofollow'>AT&T</a> has made a number of announcements, for both its wireless network and devices offered through it. The carrier has expanded its wireless-based home phone service into more markets, rolled its 4G LTE coverage into more areas, and has become the exclusive US carrier of the Kickstarter-funded <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294989==http://www.macnn.com/articles/13/01/09/smart.watch.shown.at.ces/" rel='nofollow'>Pebble smartwatch</a>. <br />
<br />
The company's <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294984==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/30/provides.calls.via.home.phone.acts.as.wi.fi.hotspo t.for.10.devices/" rel='nofollow' target="_self" title="">Wireless Home Phone and Internet</a> service, launched over the summer and provides a landline connection as well as acting as a Wi-Fi hotspot, will be going live in new areas, <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294990==http://www.theverge.com/2013/9/25/4770782/att-expanding-wireless-home-phone-internet-to-new-england-area" rel='nofollow'>reports</a> <em>The Verge</em>. Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont will be able to get hold of and use the units, which costs $200 on its own or free on a two-year contract, with a monthly cost of between $20 for unlimited voice calls and $60 for 10GB of included data. <br />
<br />
Its <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294985==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/08/21/new.growth.expands.into.portions.of.26.states/" rel='nofollow'>4G LTE network</a> is still being rolled out across the country, adding Marysville, CA; Statesboro, GA; Joplin, MO; Carson City, NV; Portsmouth, OH; East Stroudsburg, PA; San Angelo, TX; and Bellingham, WA. This brings AT&T to a total of over 400 markets for 4G LTE availability. <br />

The <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294986==http://www.electronista.com/articles/12/05/08/allerta.adding.bluetooth.40.to.pebble.watch.for.no .extra.cost/" rel='nofollow'>Pebble smartwatch</a>, a device with an e-paper display that synchronizes with a smartphone over Bluetooth, will be heading to a few of the carrier's retail stores and its website beginning September 27th, with broader availability expected in October. It will be on sale for $150, the same price as it is available for in <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294987==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/07/02/jet.black.pebble.on.sale.at.first.others.to.follow .after.kickstarter.orders.completed/" rel='nofollow'>Best Buy</a>. It is unclear what exactly prompted this action, but it will give AT&T customers a choice of smartwatch between the Pebble and the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/294991==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/09/04/new.watch.put.to.the.test/" rel='nofollow'>Samsung Galaxy Gear</a>.
