Leaked fifth-gen iPad cable may back rumors of Touch ID support
An alleged home button connector for the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/295707==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/10/02/may.bring.tablets.close.to.parity.with.iphone.5s/" rel='nofollow'>fifth-generation iPad</a> may back rumors that the tablet will get a Touch ID sensor. The part is <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/295708==http://www.ctechcn.com/ipad-5-home-button-touch-id/" rel='nofollow'>noted</a> to be redesigned versus the one in the fourth-gen iPad, and in fact share similarities with an equivalent cable in the iPhone 5s. Apple had to redesign the iPhone's connector to accommodate the fingerprint recognition hardware built into the home button.<br />

New iPads are expected to be revealed at an event later this month. Aside from a Touch ID sensor, the fifth-gen tablet is predicted to get more RAM, A7 and M7 processors, and a narrower, lighter, iPad mini-like shell. It may also get an 8-megapixel camera, similar to the one in the iPhone 5 or 5s.
