Google adds Gmail, Calendar archive downloads to Takeout
Google has finally allowed <a href="" rel='nofollow'>Gmail</a> and <a href="" rel='nofollow'>Google Calendar</a> users to download a copy of all data on the services. E-mails and messages from Gmail, along with appointments and other notices within Google Calendar, can now be <a href=",calendar" rel='nofollow'>requested</a> and pulled from Google servers by users, providing an offline backup of their data as well as allowing it to be imported into other apps and services. <br />

The extra functionality is performed through <a href="" rel='nofollow'>Google Takeout</a>, which allows for data to be downloaded as an archive from a number of other Google services, such as Contacts, Drive, and YouTube. The <em>Google Gmail blog</em> <a href="" rel='nofollow'>states</a> users can elect to download all mail or calendars, or to choose specific sets of labels or calendars, as well as bundling it with other Google service data in the same archive file. <br />

The ability to download Google Calendar data is available to all users today. Gmail archive downloads will be rolled out to all users over the next month.
