Samsung will show 105-inch curved Ultra HD TV at CES in January
Samsung has revealed it will be showing off its own 105-inch curved Ultra HD television at CES in January, on the same day as <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/300816==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/12/19/large.curved.display.can.show.higher.than.4k.resol ution.uses.tft.instead.of.oled/" rel='nofollow'>rival LG</a> announced its own similar screen. The widescreen television, also called the "world's first" by the company, appears to share a considerable number of specifications with its competitor's version, and is said to build upon the <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/300817==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/08/13/curved.television.undercuts.similar.offering.from. lg.by.6000/" rel='nofollow'>curved UHD TV</a> that it debuted earlier this year.<br />
<br />
Just like the LG version, Samsung's display <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/300813==http://global.samsungtomorrow.com/?p=31481" rel='nofollow'>boasts</a> a 21:9 aspect ratio, and is able to display an 11-megapixel image, thanks to its 5,120x2,160 resolution. It also uses a "new proprietary picture quality algorithm" for optimizing the color of the on-screen image, while its Quadmatic Picture Engine will upscale all content to "UHD-level picture quality," regardless of the source. <br />

As with LG, Samsung did not disclose the pricing nor expected shipping date for the display, but considering the earlier <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/300814==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/01/07/measures.85.inches.upscales.hd.content.to.uhd.reso lution/" rel='nofollow'>85-inch S9 Ultra HD TV</a> currently sells for $40,000 through Samsung <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/300815==http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN85S9AFXZA" rel='nofollow'>itself</a>, a larger, curved version could end up being in a similar price range.
