Samsung quietly launches 5-inch WVGA Galaxy Grand Neo
Samsung has quietly launched the Galaxy Grand Lite, with a listing on the Samsung Levant website renaming it the Galaxy Grand Neo. Just as previously rumored under the model number GT-I9060, the follow-up to the Galaxy Grand 2 is a mid-range offering, using a 5.01-inch 480x800 TFT display, with a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash supported by a front-facing VGA version.

Inside is a quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, expandable by microSD, reports Unwired View. The Galaxy Grand Neo has support for HSPA+ 21Mbps, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi, GPS, dual SIM card slots, and DLNA, though no LTE connectivity, and its 2,100mAh battery is said to give up to 8 hours of 3G internet usage or video playback, and up to 11 hours of 3G talk time.

Software-wise, it uses Android 4.2, and despite the middling specifications, it ships with some features typically reserved for the more high-specification Galaxy devices, such as Multi Window and Pop-up Play for multitasking, and a modified keyboard for one-handed operation.

Samsung has not yet revealed the price of the Galaxy Grand Neo, nor regional availability, though a retailer in the Netherlands is apparently selling the smartphone for €260 ($355).
