Acer teases Liquid Jade smartphone, Liquid Leap smart watch
Acer is adding two more devices to its <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/308768==http://www.electronista.com/articles/13/08/05/low.cost.liquid.z3.offers.dual.sim.option.android. 42.installed/" rel='nofollow'>Liquid range</a>, including the company's first wearable device. Both the Liquid Jade smartphone and the Liquid Leap smart watch were briefly shown at the New York City event, though unlike the tablets and <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/308769==http://www.electronista.com/articles/14/04/29/acer.brings.haswell.touch.screens.to.some.entry.le vel.models/" rel='nofollow'>computers</a> it also featured, the company has offered little in terms of detail for either of the two devices. <br />
<br />
The Liquid Jade is said to have "no sharp surfaces" as well as a rounder appearance compared to <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/308765==http://www.electronista.com/articles/14/02/25/mid.range.and.budget.smartphones.from.acer.offer.m ixed.results/" rel='nofollow'>recent launches</a>, and has a display measuring approximately five inches. The Android smartphone is thought to be roughly three months away from being launched, and may not appear on sale in the United States. <br />

<br />
The wearable Liquid Leap is just as mysterious, with <em>Slashgear</em> <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/308766==http://www.slashgear.com/acer-liquid-jade-smartphone-revealed-with-leap-wearable-29326847/" rel='nofollow'>reporting</a> it looks to be 17mm thick, and having a similar appearance to the LifeBand Touch. Its size suggests a simple device in a similar vein to the Pebble, providing basic notifications from the smartphone rather than a more-interactive <a href="http://macnn.com/rd/308767==http://www.electronista.com/articles/14/03/18/wearable.device.operating.system.to.first.arrive.o n.smart.watches/" rel='nofollow'>Android Wear</a> experience, though it could also offer some form of fitness tracking capability. Acer is apparently planning to sell the Liquid Leap as a "companion" device to the Liquid Jade in similar markets, and may be offered as part of a bundle with the smartphone instead of as an optional extra purchase.
