Briefly: Epson's wireless portable scanner, Yelp adds Bitcoin option
Epson announced this past week the introduction of its first portable document scanner, the WorkForce DS-40. Enabling users to scan documents with a Wi-Fi connection directly to a PC, Mac or mobile device -- as well as offering one-touch scan-to-cloud capabilities -- the DS-40 offers full functionality while being small enough to carry in an average computer bag. The scanner can be powered by battery or USB source, and is able to scan a variety of original documents up to 8.5 by 36 inches. Featuring auto-sizing and text enhancement correction tools, the WorkForce DS-40 allows for integration into workplace infrastructures with the availability of a TWAIN driver, offering broad third-party software compatibility. The Epson WorkForce DS-40 is priced at $180, and is anticipated to be available this summer.

Yelp adds attribute to denote companies that accept digital currency as payment

Yelp has introduced an update that lets its users know whether a business accepts Bitcoin as payment. The new "Accepts Bitcoin" attribute is now included in their listing options, alongside other information such as whether a business offers delivery or is pet-friendly. According to Yelp, the new inclusion enables users to more easily find local businesses that accept digital currency, thereby offering it as a potential competitive advantage.
