HTC One M8 rumored to gain updated display, improved specifications
Samsung may not be the only company producing a "Prime" version of a smartphone, as a new rumor claims HTC will be doing the same for its HTC One M8. Just as suggested for the Galaxy S5 Prime, the HTC One M8 Prime will have a Quad HD 1,440x2,560 display measuring 5.5 inches, larger than the rumored Samsung device, and equaling that of LG's upcoming flagship.

It is believed the smartphone will be waterproof, in part due to an aluminum and liquid silicone composite for the main body, according to the @evleaks Twitter account. It is also claimed the Prime will use a quad-core Snapdragon 805 clocked at 2.5GHz with 3GB of RAM, and it will be the first HTC device that will offer Category 6 LTE-A connectivity. Potential launch dates for the device are unknown.
The latest collection of leaks stems from comments made by Jeff Gordon, the senior global online communications manager for HTC. Gordon posted on Twitter that a well-known leader had been "completely wrong" about two leaks, warning "Be careful where you get your news." @evleaks posted the extra information about the Prime shortly after this declaration, though Gordon later claimed his comment "wasn't even referring to the person who assumed it was about him. Ego run amok."

Gordon previously commented about earlier M8 rumors from HTC, thanking @evleaks for the "enthusiasm for HTC and ongoing offers for free PR," and was behind the taking down of a leaked video outlining all of the device's features.
