security update broke terminal?

I installed the last update to come down the pipes, it was labeled security update, I think, and said it tweaked terminal. So now, I can launch it, use it fine, but if I leave it launched and come back to it, it won't take keyboard inputs. It quits just fine, and when relaunched behaves normally. Anyone else seeing this? Causes?
