Word and Printing

I'm sure this has been asked before, but the search feature is broken right now.

When I print a document using Arial (I have to use Arial) the spacing on the printed page looks like crap. Bold words are especially bad, running into each other.

Any ideas on wtf the problem is?

Quartz?
Drivers? Printing to an HP4100 laserjet.

I wonder if anyone tried to print a document that changes page orientation like 1, 2, 4 are portrait, 3 is landscape.

You can set it up that way, and when you print, the print job dies in a peculiar way 3/4 of the way through page 2... the text fades off into nothing.
