Terminal Colors

Is there anyway to have Terminal display colors in emacs and others?

The emacs that comes with OSX doesn't support colors, sorry.

I normally set my TERM to nxterm, and vim, etc. do display with colors.

I'm using the emacs from fink, and setting TERM to nxterm gave me colors!

I downloaded vim 6.1. Colors work fine, you have to create a start-up config file for it and set it to a suitable terminal.
