OSX.2.1 freezes on startup

Can't get OSX10.2.1 to start up. It freezes on the grey Apple logo bit (no wonder they got rid of the smiley mac logo!) Any suggestions please?

It happened on my Bondi iMac as well, the only solution for me is to boot off the 10.2 CD and run the 10.2.1 updater or simply the iTunes 3.0.1 installer; restart the Mac. It should work, I leave me Mac on all the time after this incident.
