I heard that OS X will run much faster if I completely reformat my hard drive. How do I do this? Do I start up on the OS X cd, and press "Erase Disk"?

Thanks in advance.

Erasing is not as thorough as fully reformatting, but at present you can't do this from the OS X installer CD. You can do it from an OS 9 installer CD, though. Use Drive Setup, pick Initialize Drive, and to be really thorough about it, pick the Zero All Data initialization option.
That's what I did before installing Jaguar on my machine, and it's been running beautifully.
