I'm sure this topic was dicussed here. But I am really dumb when it comes to finding matching keywords. :err:

So this is my problem: On several systems, some prefs are set to default. This includes keyboard layout, almost everything from the prefpane "General" and other little stuff (key repeat ratio etc.). Has this to do with parameter RAM? At least the key repeat stuff is saved there, right? Or is it a permission problem?

Of course I'm running 10.2.6.

How much free disk space do you have on your boot drive? This sounds like the OS X 'feature' where prefs files get deleted if your disk space gets too low. Had it happen to me a couple of times (I think my free space had dipped below 500MB).

always >2 GB since I had encountered that feature, too.

yeah, sounds like a PRAM problem.
