It was "PDF, DOC, XLS Fast Reader 2.0" by Pocket World Software, and it was indeed listed as free by the MacNN listing-which was wrong, it's 99¢. Wow.

I should point out that it took me something like 10 minutes of digging to find that particular article and make sense of the whole thing. Again, "wow."
