I spoke to a sales rep at my local Apple Store this morning. According to him, the antiglare hi-res screens are in stock, but the glossy hi-res are BTO. YMMV.

I made a similar decision recently and decide to go with the C2D. The 802.11n is good for the future, as is the DL Superdrive. One benefit you haven't mentioned is the 4MB L2 cache in the C2D.

According to Apple, this problem is now in the SOL phase. My iBook of nearly four years recently experienced the same problem. Parts + labour to fix it cost about the same as a new Macbook.
