I use a Sonica Theatre & Logitech z-5300. No where near Prologic or Dolby...

I've got the z5300's here and they sound just fine for me. I just wish m-audio would update their drivers for the Sonica Theater. Every so often my iChat sounds cut out.

Neither the Sonica or OS X does decoding, it passes it though to the speakers for them decode it. I think the only Logitech speakers that have a decoder are the Z-680's.

Try this...

Point the remote at the IR port and press the 'enter' button on it. there should be a little 'G' in the menu bar. From there it should work to turn on other apps.
