I agree with iamnid. The 4mx is already an adequate card for most tasks. It handles games well especially with your current configuration. I would recommend waiting for the next ATI or NVIDIA card.

Also, ADC can be changed to DVI or VGA with an adaptor, so you can use your Apple ADC...

I installed OS X without problems on my beige G3. The beige is the minimum spec machine that Apple supports. It also does not accelerate the Rage II+ graphics card in the Rev. A machines.
