Could definately be the RAM. Having the AC in means its probably not the battery.

Take out the new RAM and see if the problem goes away. IF it does, then you can probably request replacement ram.

I used to have a Dual 2Ghz G5 PM, and I swapped that for a MBP C2D @ 2.33 - and i couldnt be happier, it is so so much better than the PM.
