Do you have a .bashrc or .bash_login in your home directory? It sounds like a shell script is calling "mail" a unix util to tell you if you have any messages.

You might want to check out Rapidweaver for a simple, SIMPLE WYSIWYG editor. It's very basic, but it exports html which you can tweak with something like SubEthaEdit to add tables and such.

Try www.3ivx.com & export the movie from Quicktime. 3ivx 4.5 doesn't need a decoder since it'll work with Apple's mp4 decoder.

3ivx really is SUPER nice, I use it on my web site.
