I just put an Illustrator installer disc in the side slot, when there was already a disc in it. No icon appeared on the desk top...

I can't open ANY disk images. I can read CD's but not stand alone images. I keep getting error message 536870208. Even any and all images I opened in Jaguar. Any ideas?

I just did an upgrade from Jaguar (which ran nicely), but since upgrading to Panther: start-up takes well over a minute and a half, apps like Quark 6 and PS 7 take over a minute to start and etc...
