I have one of the G3 800 cards in my B&W and a Radeon PCI I get about 90 FPS in Quake 3. Jedi Knight 2 gets 40-80 FPS.

It's viable as a gaming rig, but probably won't be for the next batch of...

I have not seen this with B&W boxes though.
Maybe you need a new IDE controller.

The Rev 1 themselves didn't have a problem with Data corruption, just the IDE controller. Get a new PCI controller and you're good to go.

I got my G3 800 and it installed in 5 mins and works great! It's a very nice upgrade for the price.

The "1st 8GB" rule only applies to Beige G3s.

I will be getting a G3 800. The G4 ZIFs will NEVER go faster than 550 without overclocking (with that motherboard), and the 800 more than makes up for the lack of Altivec.
