Just to update this thread I have yet to find a monitor program that can recognise all the chips and fans on a promac booting into XP.

The only advantage of 64bit it that it can handle more then 2gigs of ram. Right now I have 3gigs in my pro but since I am running xp32 I am capped a 2 gigs. Very upsetting. If I were you I would wait...

Actually Oreo to disagree slightly, lapping is not pointless. Straight contact between the chip and the heatsink provide better heat transfer then with thermal paste filling in microscopic pits...

Well Motherboard monitor doesn't appear to allow fan control so I think it is out, plut it is no longer updated. I will try out a couple of different ones and post my results later.

I think all you have to do is remove the eject buttons and front face plates from burners and they should work just fine, it did for me.
