Good choice on the 12 inch...mine works great as a desktop replacement. I would think the speed would be better on the PB due to faster bus speed, more RAM, etc. Good luck with your purchase.

I believe the only times I've needed Apple service were to get a replacement rubber foot for my PB, and way back in the day to get a PRAM battery for my 6100, so I'd say I've had good luck with Apple...
