While I suppose it's technically possible, I've never encountered any. There's applications that supposedly block spyware, but I usually laugh at them because they're just not needed.

There is a tiny flashing dot in the "lens" of the Spotlight icon while the initial indexing is in progress. Once this disappears, Spotlight is ready to go.

I ended up using Pref Setter (http://homepage.mac.com/darkshadow02/apps.htm#prefsetter) to look at it, but it doesn't look like there's any setting in there to turn off the notification. :cry:

That's another thing, actually � when I open the plist in TextEdit, it doesn't display in the normal XML format. It's got some weird encoding on it, and you can't actually see any of the values.

Funny, because I notice pinstripes more in Tiger than I did in Panther. Mostly with inactive windows, though. They just seem more pronounced to me. :confused:

Hmm... see, the application itself was removed, though. I found no trace of it at all on my machine. Nothing in Previous System except its pref file. On my machine, Stuffit just disappeared.

WORD. Any issues with it not picking up my voice just had to do with the crappy microphone on the early-rev iMacs. But now we have iSight (or at least I do ;)). Few things were cooler than logging...
