I had a perfectly running silent machine.
I installed Tiger on sunday and noticed a beeping coming from the case.:confused:
Found out that it's perfectly in sync to the second with the system's...

Same thing happened to me with an account I created for the wife and kids.
All of a suddent the pw was invalid...a reboot fixed it though.
Im sure it will be reported as a bug.

I tried that "burning with XP" method and it would not burn as bootable , maybe I did something wrong...doubt it.
Other than that it works fine to burn Mac readable backups.
I eventually remove...

I've done an upgrade install and a wipe clean install...both have none of the problems you describe except for an occasional smb weirdness which I'm guessing is a gui bug.
