Sounds like your machine is connecting to itself instead of the other machine. Check your IP adresses, or set up Bonjour in Vine and Chicken, your other mac should show up automagically in the list.

OK, after binning the prefs it didn't create these folders on the initial startup, however once I set up the tvtv.com subscription and restarted EyeTV it started again.
