I decided to run some tests for two weeks with the "new" board in the "old" Clamshell to see if there is a general heat problem - otherwise it will not make sense to go on....

I remember that the white G3 iBook CDROM drive is configured as SLAVE (it uses the same cable as the HD) but your Clamshell needs a drive that is MASTER, so it won't work.

I have Clamshell iBook with a 466Mhz Logicboard. Apple hardware test reports a memory error while there is no RAM in the DIMM1 slot, so the 64MB chip soldered to the logicboard must be faulty....
