Ok I figured it out 10.3.7 doesnt let you play dvds on external drives (why?) you need a patch for that UserOpPatch1.6 which changes the DVDPlayback framework to enable it again, to burn DVDs/CDs...

Hmm, no response, this is what I have learnt so far,

in 10.3.5 external dvds no longer work with DVD Player. Is this true? I downloaded a patch that should fix it and I will see what happens.
