Apple will need to update some machines. As of right now the only shipping machines that do not support Core Image are, eMacs, iBooks, and Mini's. I would expect these to be updated with new PS 2.0...

But that flipping is not using a programable pixel shader and that is why it works.

You only get core image effects if you have a video card that has programable pixel shaders.

ie, ATI 9600 or higher and Nivida FX and higher.
