it's because it depends on your processor's speed. MacOS's window manager will automatically skip frames when the CPU is overloaded (which is common when launching an app for example)

mmmm, i'm ok with 1) 2) 3) and 4) but not 5) ! I think the purpose of "prune" is to find non themed elements and to delete them. You don't have to do it by hand.
