Why would your iBook over heat anyways? I don't understand this: are you saying that if left alone with no special consideration they will overheat? I highly doubt apple would still be in business.

Upping the power shouldn't be such a hard ordeal. The best thing you could do, however, is to use an external antenna. Too bad there is no such option unless you wanna do a custom job.

Why would it be slow? If it were flash memory as opposed to Mini HD's, the flash memory will transfer data a lot quicker than your HD.
