I have centon RAM in my iBook, seems to work fine. My computer's only gotten faster since I put it in, so I guess that's a good thing :-)

I would venture to say that it's the same for all laptops. I haven't bought my applecare yet -- but I will (I didn't have the $180 dollars when I bought the computer, a replacement for my PC laptop...

I have the 800 MHz model (CDROM only, as I would have wasted the money spent earlier on a firewire burner). I absolutely love it. It's fast enough for daily tasks, and I've been playing Warcraft on...
