So far not one initial Mac OS X release has been picture perfect. That said Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard isn't nearly as bad as Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger was at this stage.

You could try that. Basically anything that looks too different from Aqua, will end up breaking consistency even more simply because the amount of elements we can still change are very limited.

I gave the whole iTunes scroll bar thing a try too, but I thought it looked a bit out of place with all the other elements still being Aqua and all. Too bad we can't replace those.

Actually it does. Extras.rsrc is for PPC-based Macs and PPC applications running under Rosetta...

I have an 1GHz eMac running Mac OS X Leopard as well and I don't think you'll have bother to be honest. It runs great on my 2.8 GHz iMac, but on the eMac it's downright slow. Especially Time Machine...
