That’s my understanding as well; AFAICT v7.2 is still based on the stock v5.13 codebase. My point was that it can still process tasks from Multibeam WUs, and its results should still validate against...

Why “foolishly”? If the identity manual isn’t made available, how can designers or production artists be expected to follow its guidelines?

See upthread (http://forums.macnn.com/72/team-macnn/295708/enhanced-optimized/18/#post3355618). I just installed the new “mb” app—thanks, Alex!—on my G5 running BOINC v5.4.9, but it hasn’t got any...

Any S@h Enhanced version can process Multibeam data; note that there’s been no jump in version numbers since last summer. AFAICT most of the development effort for Multibeam was server-side,...

I’m using ID most of the time to start projects these days—although if I had QX v7 I’d use it more than I do v6.5. Still, I often miss certain QX ‘productivity’ features when working in ID, for...

AIUI there are no substantive differences between the Multibeam app and earlier S@h Enhanced versions, although the credit claims (i.e. Flop multiplier) for the new version has been adjusted. The...

This has come up here before, somewhere upthread, and also in the S@h Mac Q&A forum (where IIRC Alex indicated that he’s aware of it). It’s apparently triggered by an attempt to give the executable...

It should just be a matter of changing the version entry, or adding another one, like this:
<app_version>
<app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name>
<version_num>518</version_num>
<file_ref>...

AFAICT it’s not an option, rather part of a programme to improve security.

This is a known issue, and can occur with the stock app as well (except, of course, that the path displayed is from someone else’s HD). Apparently it’s caused by BOINC’s lacking the necessary access...

I’m pretty sure it was the default BOMArchiveHelper.app, automatically triggered by Safari; other .zip files on the system show the ‘zipper’ icon rather than Stuffit’s ‘parcel’.

Fixing permissions 153,132 Views / 1,309 Replies
You didn’t have to change any permissions?

I just tried the update, and I did have a problem—but it turned out to be easy to solve. I’d set S@h not to get any work and it had reported on its own...

New BOINC owner/permissions 153,132 Views / 1,309 Replies
I’m planning to switch a new iMac over to the i386-v7.2-core2 app, and it’s running BOINC v5.8.15, with which I have little experience. From what I hear the recent versions’ changed process-owner or...

That’s not quite how it worked out. Just to be safe, I let the S@h queue run out with the project set to NNT. After Updating to report the completed work, I suspended BOINC from the Activity menu,...

There are also quite a few “Soviet Constructivist” fonts reminiscent of 1930s poster art; there was a bit of a fad for them in the ’90s. Neville Brody’s Industria is an example. They don’t...

Thanks a lot for the suggestion; I’ll try it out. I had read those instructions in the script (IIRC they’re on the download page as well) but I don’t want to remove BOINC, just to stop and restart...
