I've seen this too. I set my preferences for SETI to sleep when I'm active, so I don't have a problem while I'm using the machine. It hurts my RAC somewhat when I'm using my machine for a 10-12 hour...

You may misunderstand what they mean by "level the playing field". They may not be referring to credit parity, but crunching parity, i.e., that the other projects get as many cpu hours working on...
