I dont see what is so bad about them. Design wise, they are beautiful. Amazing to look at, and the screen truly is the highlight of the unit. NO matter what anyone says. The video playback is BETTER...

Might be. If it's brand new it shouldn't have ANY bad sectors. Well, that's the theory anyways...looks like you may have a bad drive. It will work fine (more than likely) when it's accessing 'good'...
