I am considering buying an iPad 3G.
Is anybody regretting the purchased of a 16GB model? Why?
Do cloud services aleviate the problem at all?

I got the 16GB w/o 3G. My reasoning not to buy more:
a) it's a Rev A product, didn't want to pimp it out
b) for music, I still have my iPhone, so I don't need the space
c) for videos, 16G is plenty.

Figure a gig an hour for good video (1024 by x from HD sources)... so if you need more than 10 hours (assuming you have some apps and music and the OS and whatnot) of video then get something larger.

You should look into AirVideo if you primarily watch videos in WiFi range. It’s my personal killer-app for the iPad.

Thirded. Brilliant app, indeed.
And has let me free up a ton of space on the iPad.

Doesn't it work over 3G as well?

Fourthed.
Good Reader is my personal second killer app.

This made me check out AirVideo for my iPod Touch. Does it work with digital copies obtained from Blu-Ray "combo" packs? I have a bunch of these, but I can only fit 1 or 2 at a time on my Touch.

Are those DRMed ?
I'm not exactly sure what the "server" side of AirVideo does.
However, it seems to me that the only way to efficiently stream is if the videos are already in a Quicktime native format (h.264etc...)

What percentage of 16GB are 100 apps going to take up?

Really depends on the apps. No easy answer there.

If you're into lots of music always available, lots of entertainment, lots of apps, then you need a bigger one.
The 16 GB is useful if you've got insomnia, like to read the news at breakfast, need to keep the kids quiet while driving or traveling, stuff like that.

got the 16 here's why.
All of my music is on my iPhone that is always with me. Why use the iPad?
The iPad has my top songs just in case.
I put 3 movies and 5 TV shows on it comfortably.
Hundreds of photos.
Internet radio.
I use airvideo and watch ALL of my movies on my home computers from any internet connection. Why carry just a few with me when I can have them all?
Use Apple Remote on iPad to play music on my speakers.

Also got the 16GB (3G). It's always a matter of personal use, but I expect my iPad will be mostly apps and photos with only a few videos. The 16GB Touch I've had for a year-and-a-half rarely has more than 10GB on it, and since it's more portable I'm sure my music will continue to stay on it.
Again, it will come down to personal use.

I didn't know I could use the Apple remote to control the iPad.
With 3G, I don't expect to have any music written in flash. It all would come from Pandora.

Sprinkles was talking about using the Apple Remote App on his iPad to control iTunes on his network, not using a remote to control his iPad.
