need help finding a title of a movie.

my dad is big into cycling (road bikes) tour de france style. he has even gotten me into it..although not as much as he would like. anyways i was going to try to find this movie for him for christmas...its about these two friends who race road bikes...i think one of them gets sick or has cancer or somethingi believe it was released in the 80's...i know that isn't much detail but any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

Only bike pic from the '80('70s techncally as it was '79) I can recall is Breaking Away but dosent fit your description well.

found it...American Flyers...i searched for brains song on amazon and american flyers came up as related so thanks guys.

"Breaking Away" is a wonderful movie too..
Go IU....er cutters... (hmmm..little thing though I lived in Bloomington/Indiana University (where the movie was filmed) from 87-93 and never once did I ever hear that term Cutter used. Great movie though.
