I stupidly left my Titanium PB "asleep" instead of "shut down" when I packed it in my bags for a flight.

Ever since then it has been irritatingly loud while running. Does this make sense? Can a Powerbook be damaged by traveling with it (in a checked bag) when it's asleep?

Is there any cure? How noisy should I normally expect the PB to be?
