I was perusing the archives of my favorite blog, and then *SHOCK*.
An employee decided to greet every cybersurfer going to compusa.com
Way to stick it to the man, I guess

CompUSA is apparently not going out of business and instead they're being bought by Tiger Direct.
Darn shame if you ask me.

Me too! I did think that the woman on the ViewSonic monitor looked a little out of place, but the blog has a link that shows it better.

It's not really "defacing" if you think about it... it's more like "facing."

If there was only some way to figure out whose faces those were they could be caught.

It would be easy enough to say "Someone else put that up... think I would be dumb enough to put my own image on there?!"

I don't get it. Maybe I'm dense, but I don't see the joke. Here's what it looks like on my machine:
Edit: Never mind, I see it now. Followed the blog link above... now I see all the difference face pictures on the monitors. At first I just thought it was a stupid picture to use in a monitor ad...

In the other page that shows all the pix, you can see how haphazardly the images were stretched and skewed to fit into the monitors.

I guess the stores are still SOL. Hopefully Tigers culture will carryover to DumpUSA.
Tiger won my loyalty when an incorrect price in their catalog led to me having a really terrible experience with a rude, gum-chewing jackass phone rep in an attempt to purchase the item. I fired off a very basic businessman-to-businessman worded email to their VP of Marketing about my terrible experience and it's wider effect on the integrity of their brand and damned if he didnt message me back from his Blackberry with a promise to call me the next day.
He made it right, the phone rep got canned and I got the camera...not for the advertised price but at their actual cost, which I was happy to pay. Their willingness to go the extra mile made me a loyal future customer.
