does anyone have an answer?
and sorry for the muliple posts. i alerted the moderator at the time to delete the repeats. macnn was having a brain fart when i posted it and it ended up posting 3 times.

is there anyway to have an applescript open an application and automatically hide it and not have it ever show? like launch invisible?

Something like this?

tell application "QuickTime Player"
launch
end tell

tell application "System Events"
set visible of (process "QuickTime Player") to false
