Who here buys things from Craigslist? ( www.craigslist.org)
I love Craigslist, but some of the stuff on Craigslist is downright bizarre and frequently entertaining. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking when they list "used crutches" for sale for $5 - and will deliver.
Got a baby? Then check out this ad for 152,320 diapers. Only $15,232 dollars.
And just for the few of us that might have an urgent need for cowhides, here you go. They're even folded up for you. Only $35. I guess in cowhide-land that's a bargain.
I must admit that I love Craigslist and I've bought a lot of things from people hawking their items through Craigslist. I think it's the next eBay, to be honest, except that the items for sale tend to be more...exotic...shall we say.

I got rid of a cat on craigslist.com. I figured hippies love that kind of a website and hippies love kitties.
I was quite overwhelmed by the response. A woman came over 40 miles to take our cat. We recieved about 15 reqests for him.
I say

if you needed crutches, wouldn't you prefer that someone deliver them? and if you had crutches, would you keep them, expecting to use them again, or would it be better to hand them off to someone that did need them?
that there is a market for used crutches does not surprise me at all.

I was about to say that the listing of used crotches for sale is not only bizarre, but illegal.

Even better is Freecycle. If you don't have a local chapter, start one! I've got rid of a lot of stuff from the basement.

Craigslist is ok. I've picked up some nice computer items for great prices.
Have a look at the "Rants and Raves" section (this applies to the San Francisco Craigslist site, I don't know about other locations). It really is anything goes and presents a good contrast with some of the posts in this forum.

Ah, so all of the Craigslist groupies are coming out of the closet and admitting it.
Nice to see.

#1 - The first rule of craigslist is, you do not talk about craigslist.
